Receiving The Gift March 6, 2012

Salvation is for EVERYONE!

The first step is recognizing that you are a sinner. God holds different standards than those of the world. He created laws like the 10 Commandments for us to follow.

10 Commandments:

Don’t steal
Don’t kill
Honor Sundays and keep them holy
Don’t take the Lord’s name in vain
Don’t lie
Don’t covet your neighbors house
Don’t make graven images
Have no other gods before the Lord
Honor your mother and father
Do not commit adultery

When we look at these laws it is so easy to see just how sinful we are. No one was perfect, except Jesus. There is no way we can go through life without breaking any of these laws, it is impossible without God. He made the way in giving up His one and only Son to die on the cross for our sins.

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world He gave his one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

I love the imagining a cliff where we, the human sinners dwell and then a huge cloud that represents God in Heaven and in between, down below are the fires of Hell where Satan resides. I imagine that there is no way to get to Heaven until Jesus lays down His life and the cross becomes our bridge to eternity.

It is so easy to be saved you just have to pray a prayer of repentance and begin to truly live for the Lord.

Here is a prayer you could pray….

Father,
I know I am a sinner, and that apart from you I can do no good. I ask you to forgive me and to come live in my heart. Save me from an eternity of Hell and wash my sins away.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Yes! It is just that simple!

If you have prayed this sinners prayer and believe in your heart that you are saved, you are!

Drop me a note and let me know if you have accepted this wonderful gift! I would love to pray with and encourage you in your walk with Christ!
